Community Survey, Research Study, and Town Hall Event
Four key updates from Street Epistemology International this month, including our community survey, a groundbreaking scientific study, an upcoming town hall meeting, and the importance of your donations. Read on to see how you can get involved and support our mission.
11 June 2024
Four quick yet important things worth mentioning this month.
- There are just a few days left before our inaugural Street Epistemology Community Survey closes. We’re receiving a good response, but the more respondents we have, the better. The survey only takes a few minutes, and we’ll share the results afterward. Please don’t delay—complete the 2024 SE Survey now.
- We are very close to conducting our first-ever scientific study on the effectiveness of Street Epistemology, among other aspects. Since we don’t want to contaminate the study with a large number of participants already familiar with SE, we’re seeking individuals who can introduce the study to people from other areas of their lives who are willing to participate in an online interaction. To show our appreciation, we’ll even be giving away gift cards to random participants.
If you have access to groups of people unaffiliated with Street Epistemology, please email us at [email protected]. This could include your schoolmates, co-workers, friends, family, or even your bowling partners. You might also run an online club or group. We’d love to learn more and consider providing you with access to the interactive survey to share with them. The more non-SE-familiar people we can include in both the control and active interactions, the more confidence we will have in the findings. This is a landmark study for SE—the first of its kind—and likely won’t be the last. Help be a part of it.
- The Board of Directors at Street Epistemology International will be hosting another SE Community Town Hall meeting on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM (US Central Time). You can also plug this into Discord to have the date and time dynamically rendered. The event will be recorded for possible release on the SE Podcast, so manage your on-screen names, microphones, and cameras accordingly. Event will occur on this Stage in the SE Discord server.
- We need donations, and recurring ones are even better. Although SEI currently relies primarily on donations, all of the things we’ve been working on (course, research, websites, training, etc.) cost money, and it will be some time before we can shift into hardcore grant writing mode. It’s coming, but it will take a while. If you enjoy the work we’re doing to bring Street Epistemology to more people around the world in an easy-to-understand and compelling way, please donate here now.
On behalf of me and our dedicated Board of Directors, thanks for your continued support and interest in what we’re doing with Street Epistemology.
Regards,
Anthony Magnabosco
