I would like to start this update by apologizing for the absence of monthly updates over the past two months. We understand the importance of regular communication and how it fosters a thriving, engaged community. Our hiatus was not due to negligence, but to an increased focus on some critical areas of our organization demanding of our time.
In the recent months, we have been deeply immersed in a transition from strategic planning to the creation of an internal process of evaluating and ranking the vast opportunities that are presented to us. As an organization with limited resources, we are committed to maximizing our impact, even when this means making tough decisions about how to best allocate our time and energy. Our goal is to ensure we are not only effective, but efficient in delivering on our mission.
We're excited to share some of the potential projects that we are currently considering. First, we see a compelling opportunity to revamp the Street Epistemology website, providing a more user-friendly and engaging experience for our community. We're also exploring the development of an Artificial Intelligence for Street Epistemology training and belief exploration. We believe this has the potential to revolutionize the way we train and educate, providing an interactive, personalized learning journey. Further, we're looking into the possibility of offering paid instructor training. These projects and others could potentially provide a more structured, comprehensive learning experience for those interested in going deeper into Street Epistemology.
In other exciting news, for the first time since our inception, the SEI board will be meeting in Nashville, TN for an in-person strategy summit. We believe that an occasional face-to-face interaction will allow us to create stronger bonds, enhance collaboration, and ultimately make better decisions that will impact the SE community in positive ways.
I’m also pleased to announce that we’re ready to test the sixth module in the upcoming self-directed course on Street Epistemology, which is all about the crucial step of building and maintaining rapport. This module is very important to conducting effective SE, and we’re looking for people (regardless if you’ve tested a previous module or not) to sign up, read the module, complete a short survey, and then attend an optional online focus group session. Please don’t delay signing up if you’re interested in helping with this one: https://streetepistemology.com/learning-course
Our journey has never been a solo endeavor. Each of you plays an essential role in the life of SEI, and we are immensely grateful for your support and patience during these demanding periods. Rest assured, we will continue to keep you informed of our progress and decisions, and I plan to resume our regular monthly updates.
By the way, I’ll be participating in my first ‘Ask My Anything’ on a Street Epistemology Discord server on Saturday, 5 August 2023 at 1pm US Central Time (6:00pm GMT). I’d love to see you there and take your questions in real-time. After installing the app on your mobile device, click this invitation link to get started: https://discord.gg/streetepistemology
Thank you for your understanding and your unwavering commitment to our mission. Together, I am highly confident we can continue to grow and make a significant impact.
With gratitude,
Anthony Magnabosco
