Archiving, Updating, Growing
We’ve archived a couple of outdated resources, expanded our board, and formed our first committee to assist SE practitioners.

Here’s a summary of updates for Street Epistemology International:
Archiving Outdated SE Content
The creation of the SE Course is resulting in updated ideas about Street Epistemology, which has caused us to take a closer look at some of the older materials and postings on the SE website. In order to reduce confusion and provide people with our most current information, we removed links to the SE Guide that me and a few other early SE adopters volunteered to write in 2015. We also updated a 2016 blog post listing what was considered to be the steps of SE with a modern list of Street Epistemology steps pulled from Module 3: Street Epistemology Overview. Ensuring that our most current understandings of Street Epistemology are prominently accessible to people looking for such resources is a challenging but necessary task. I am incredibly grateful for the people who, very early on, dedicated their time and energy to develop these once very useful resources.
Our First Committee
I’m pleased to announce that we formed a Committee to assist SE practitioners. A Committee is simply a small group of individuals who volunteer a bit of their time to assist SEI with specific projects. The Practitioner Committee will be led by Mark Solomon, a psychotherapist and an accomplished SE content creator. Although we’re still hammering out the exact scope and function of the Practitioner Committee and expect to reveal specifics in the coming weeks, I’m optimistic that the formation of this group will become an incredible resource for people around the world interested in practicing and promoting SE and allow us to better manage the resources your donations to SEI is able to provide to them.
Board Expansion
I’m also pleased to announce that Georgia Phelps has joined our Board as Treasurer. Georgia lives in Nashville, Tennessee, has been an enthusiastic supporter of SE for years, and brings accounting experience and keen insights to our organization. We’ve also added two new provisional Board members and will release their names and backgrounds in a future update.
Website Consolidation
Rather than manage two websites, in the coming weeks we plan to redirect the streetepistemologyinternational.org website to a brand new page on the SE website where people can learn about the non-profit organization. This new page will include the names, biographies, and pictures of the SEI Board, ways to donate, and links to view monthly updates.
Street Epistemology Meetups
We’re starting to see groups forming that regularly meet to discuss and practice Street Epistemology, and that’s really exciting. I’m hopeful that we can find a way to help these groups communicate with each other so they can share resources, ideas, and maybe even collaborate. If you’re interested in starting a local SE club, or wish to obtain a seat so that you can promote your group on Meetup, please email [email protected] and we can help get you going.
Partnerships
Street Epistemology International was recently asked to become an Institutional Partner with CIRCE, “an institute dedicated to developing humanity's immunity to the ideas and ideologies that consistently frustrate human aspiration. Through the deliberate application of scientific findings on the mind's immune system, CIRCE seeks to prevent epidemics of unreason.” CIRCE is SEI’s first official affiliation and I’m eager to work with them on impactful projects. You can familiarize yourself with CIRCE’s mission, board, affiliates, and their attempts to help people develop mental immunity on their website.
As you might tell by this snapshot of activity, we’ve been quite busy. I’m also really excited about the new folks who have joined the SEI Board and learning from the decades of experience that they bring. On a personal note, seeing all of the activity happening in the SE community has encouraged me to consider finding a new spot to conduct some SE talks for my channel and maybe even start a local SE group for those interested in having better conversations.
Best regards,
Anthony Magnabosco
