Our first full year as an organization is coming to a close, and it’s been an incredible ride so far.

Although Street Epistemology International was formed last year, 2020 marks the close of our first full year as an operating non-profit organization. Although COVID put a damper on our tabling and outreach events, we were still able to accomplish many things to advance Street Epistemology into the culture.

In 2020 we updated the SE Website, provided a few thousand dollars of support to SE Content Creators and communities, and created the infrastructure necessary for individuals to financially support our SE efforts with tax-deductible contributions.

This year also saw the start of our grant writing and solicitation process, discussions with neuroscientists who want to study Street Epistemology scientifically, and (with the help of a multinational team of volunteers) the development of the SE Course, an effort that has the potential to teach thousands of people how to use this toolset. I personally also participated in nearly 40 interviews or speaking sessions over the year to help promote Street Epistemology.

The SEI Board and I are busy with all sorts of projects (from fun to the mundane) that will advance SE over the coming months and years, while respecting the crucial, wonderful, organic, grassroots nature of the global SE Community.

As this year comes to a close and we begin to prepare for an even more productive 2021, I wish to sincerely thank you again for your continued financial support and all those other creative ways you have helped to promote Street Epistemology.
